One Of The Great Things About Being A Baby Is Baby Toys!
|
As everybody knows, one of the great things about being a baby is, of course, the baby toys. So many colors and shapes and sounds! So many fun things to learn and do! Even a simple wooden baby toy can make your child squeal with delight and be entertained for hours. Sometimes it must seem to your little one that there is just so much to play with and so little time!
Seeing your child develop new motor skills and abilities as they play with their favorite toy is an amazing experience for every parent. It's exciting to watch your baby learn to grasp that rattle in their hand for the first time. In fact, some of the best baby toys are learning toys. Developmental baby toys can range from a simple activity center that can be hung in your infant's crib (good for hours of spinning, pulling, batting, and rattling), to Baby Einstein DVD's that engage your child through interesting visuals and sound.
As important as educational baby toys might be, sometimes you just want to get your child some cool baby toys. "Cool", of course, is subjective and depends on what your tastes are so, basically, the door is wide open. A stuffed Cookie Monster by Gund, a Train Table by Kid Kraft, a toy drum set, a Baby Snoopy plush toy, or any number of toys from Fisher-Price - any of these would be a fine choice for your little boy or little girl.
When purchasing toys for your baby, there are a few things to keep in mind about safety. Don't forget to check the labels to make sure the toy is safe for chewing. Babies love to chew on their toys; it is one of the ways they learn about their world. Also, make sure there are no small parts that could be yanked or ripped off the toy as these are a definite choking hazard for your child. A good rule of thumb is if the toy or toy part looks like it can fit in your baby's mouth, it probably can, so avoid it. Heavy toys should be avoided as well, as they can cause harm if they were to fall on your baby. Lastly, anything with a string or cord longer than 12 inches is a definite no-no as they can easily end up around your child's neck. Yes, there are many safety issues to think about, but don't worry, baby toys can be safe and fun. Remember, finding the perfect toy need not be difficult as babies ultimately will play with just about anything.
